Bozza Agrestide op 44

Eugène Bozza's Agrestide op. 44 is a sonorous, characterful work for flute and piano, which was written in 1942 as a competition piece for the Paris Conservatoire and is dedicated to Gaston Crunelle. The music combines vocal lines with virtuoso demands and beautifully demonstrates why Bozza's works for wind instruments are still so highly regarded today. With its alternating sections between pastoral calm, free cadenza and more animated passages, the composition is ideal for advanced flautists, whether in concert, competition or demanding lessons.
