Description
Diapason brings together twelve piano pieces by Roberto Cacciapaglia, an Italian composer and pianist whose music moves between modern classical music, minimal music, meditative tonal language and fine melodic directness. Cacciapaglia studied composition, electronic music and conducting in Milan and has been exploring the interplay of sound, harmony, space and emotional impact for many years.
The pieces from Diapason are characterized by a clear, atmospheric tonal language: calm, sweeping melodies, transparent harmonies, flowing repetitive structures and a sound that thrives on inner tension rather than external virtuosity. Titles such as Frequency of Love, The Morning is Born Tonight, Farthest Star, Always Present or Gratitude show Cacciapaglia's sense for simple, emphatic musical gestures - music that seems accessible but is not banal.
The album of the same name was recorded in 2019 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. This piano edition presents the pieces in a form for solo piano and is particularly suitable for pianists who are looking for modern, poetic piano music with emotional depth, a calm pulse and a contemporary sound.
