Description
Popular nicknames for classical works often do not come from the composer himself—but in the case of Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony, this is not the case: “Pastoral Symphony, or Reminiscences of Country Life. “More an expression of feeling than a painting,” is how Beethoven described the title of his new work to his publisher. With its vivid musical motifs and catchy melodies, the “Pastoral” has been one of Beethoven’s most beloved works since its premiere in December 1808. In 2022, the three exceptional artists Emanuel Ax, Leonidas Kavakos, and Yo-Yo Ma recorded an arrangement of the symphony for piano trio as part of their “Beethoven for Three” project. This transcription by the renowned pianist Shai Wosner has since enjoyed tremendous success with audiences. All fans of piano trios are invited to embark on an exciting journey of discovery: “Pastorale Revisited”!
