Ferrari Romanian Suite

Marco Ferrari's Romanian Suite presents traditional Romanian urban and folk music in a colorful, effective version for string quartet. The edition comprises five movements - Cantec, De ascultare, Hora lautareasca, Buciumeana and Joc cu bata - and thus offers a varied program full of character, movement and tonal contrasts.

Ferrari, himself a musician with many years of experience in early music, improvisation and various traditional music cultures, published these quartet suites in 2018 with Ut Orpheus as a collection that deals with urban-influenced traditional music from Central Europe. It is precisely from this that the work gains its lively, stylistically independent tone. This edition contains score and parts and is ideal for string quartets wishing to expand their repertoire with a suite that is both accessible and original.
