How difficult is it to learn the trumpet?

Playing the trumpet can be challenging, as it comes with several technical demands. These three aspects are often considered difficult:

  1. Breath control and endurance: The trumpet demands good breath technique and stamina. You must learn to direct your air evenly and powerfully through the instrument to produce clear tones.
  2. Lip tension (embouchure): The sound of the trumpet depends greatly on the tension of your lips, which requires practice. The so-called “embouchure” must be developed over time.
  3. Persistence and patience: Mastering the trumpet requires regular practice and patience. Progress may be slow, but every small improvement will boost your motivation.

How expensive is a trumpet?

We offer a very wide range of trumpets, from beginner models to instruments with the highest sound quality. Prices start at around 300 CHF. We also have attractive pre-owned options available for you. For beginners or just to try it out, you can also rent a trumpet from us.

At what age can one start playing the trumpet?

Children can begin learning the trumpet as early as 7 or 8 years old, provided they have sufficient breath power. Much depends on the child's physical development and enthusiasm.
