In the first three to five hours of playing, the strings feel a touch softer and sound slightly warmer than for the rest of their life. Then the string opens up, sounds more brilliant and open and feels a little tighter under the fingers. In the last third of the strings' life, the bell-like feeling of sound space becomes somewhat less, they sound more direct - from this point onwards, the sound character of the strings hardly changes.
