The electronics layout, some key specs and PRS craftsmanship come together in the McCarty 594 Singlecut to create an instrument that plays in tune, is intonated along the entire length of the neck and feels like a guitar you've always played. The McCarty 594 Singlecut has been carefully specified to offer a familiar feel and warm vintage tone. It features a bound Pattern Vintage neck with 22 frets and a scale length of 24.594", a slightly thicker body for more tone and sustain and 58/15 LT treble and bass pickups that have undergone the TCI (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) process. The 58/15 LT pickups offer exceptional clarity, focused mids and vintage character. The McCarty 594 Singlecut model is held in place by a two-piece zinc stoptail bridge with brass saddles and pins for added resonance and vintage-style tuners. In the late 1980s, Paul Reed Smith asked Ted McCarty to advise him on guitar design and production techniques. He not only served as a mentor, but also became a good friend to Paul and everyone he met at PRS. In 1994, PRS launched the first McCarty, an instrument that incorporated the full range of techniques and knowledge Paul had received from Ted, as well as his own experience as a luthier.
