D'Addario Mandolin XSM 1140 string set

D'Addario is proud to introduce the new XS string range. A technological breakthrough in coated strings, this innovation offers maximum durability, unprecedented strength and stability - without sacrificing the legendary D'Addario tone.

Under the direction of Jim D'Addario, the development team relied on proprietary manufacturing processes and groundbreaking innovations such as NY Steel high-carbon cores for the wound strings and Fusion Twist technology for the trebles with bare steels to make XS unparalleled in terms of breaking strength and tuning stability.

XS differs from other strings with the new, extremely thin film coating (1/10 the thickness of a hair) to fully protect the wound strings against corrosion without dampening the sound. This new film coating is combined with D'Addario's dispersion coating used in the XT line to also protect the bare steel strings.

Guitarists can choose between XT - for improved durability and a natural feel - or XS - for maximum durability and a smoother feel.
