Meinl Signature - Zack Grooves natural for: drum set

Zack Grooves came to Meinl Stick & Brush with the goal of finding a drumstick that felt like an extension of his hands and responded appropriately regardless of the playing situation. Together we developed a stick that has a unique combination of weight, diameter and length. To do this, we first select our heaviest hickory sticks and mill them to a medium-thin diameter of 0.550 inches. These are then cut to a length of 16.5 inches and given a long taper to compensate for the heavy weight. The end result is a well-balanced stick, light enough for small venues, but with the weight to project enough when needed and stand up to the stresses.

For maximum flexibility, Zack chose an oval tip to create a balanced response and variety of sound on the cymbals. This gives him full control over his final sound.

'My goal was to find the perfect drumstick no matter what style of music I play. In one situation I needed something light for a jazz standards gig in a cocktail bar, in another I needed something heavy and durable for a rock song. And let me tell you: Meinl Stick & Brush did the trick! My drumsticks feel super fast and direct. Thanks to the extra length, you have enough reach to play powerfully without feeling like you have to work too hard. I always have full control over what I'm playing, no matter what style or requirement. And let's not forget the oval tip of the stick, which sounds particularly good when you play the cymbals gently and sensitively. All in all, it's my favorite stick of all time.'
