With the success of the Cerberus, NUX designed the new, versatile Trident NME-5 as a logical further development. The sound could be modulated with even higher resolution. The Trident has 2 powerful DSPs on board - one for effects and one for amp modeling. The TSAC-4K amp modeling has an algorithm that is twice as complex as that of the Cerberus (white-box physical modeling). The design of the Trident also meets high-end requirements in every respect, both in terms of the one-piece aluminum chassis and the selected components.

In order to produce a natural, direct sound with extremely low background noise, the Trident was equipped with premium A/D and D/A converters. The increased demands on the modeling of amplifiers and effects have been implemented in the Trident in an extremely pioneering way - by simulating all four inputs on certain amplifiers and simulating their various combination possibilities using patch cables (a typical example here is patching the inputs of a Plexi amp). The amp modeling, cabinets, modulation effects, delays and reverbs and other effects can be freely configured within the 10 effect blocks. The combination possibilities are almost endless, so there are no limits to sound creations and experiments. If the implemented impulse responses (IRs) are still not enough, the Trident has 32 memory locations for importing additional IRs via the integrated USB port.
