The new Responsive Hammer III (RHIII) action has various grand piano action features that are essential for realizing a realistic motion sequence. Not least thanks to the precise 3-sensor technology, the musician can expect a very natural playing feel. Different weighting zones create a real grand piano feel. In addition, weights have been incorporated into all keys and the hammer weighting has been recalculated so that an even better balance between pronounced fortissimo and yet low-fatigue playing with perfect control in pianissimo is possible.
In addition, the ES920 digital piano has Ivory Touch key surfaces from Kawai, which absorb finger moisture with their ivory-like properties and thus provide the musician with a non-slip surface and thus excellent playing control. In addition, the ES920 keyboard is equipped with a pressure point simulation that ensures perfect control when playing pianissimo.
Impressive recordings of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX, SK-5 and Kawai EX concert grand pianos with Harmonic Imaging XL and 88-key sampling
The ES920 reproduces the outstanding sound of the Kawai SK-EX, SK-5 and EX concert grand pianos. All 88 keys of these three exceptional grand piano models have been elaborately recorded and analyzed. The unique characteristics of each individual note and the wide dynamic range of the sounds allow the pianist to express their emotional playing ... from soft pianissimo to powerful fortissimo. With the integrated Virtual Technician function, the sound character of these acoustic piano sounds can be changed very easily. For example, you can adjust the intensity of the string and damper resonance or the sound of the reverberating hammers. A reverb effect can then be added to such a personalized setting to give the sound additional spatial depth.
Large selection of additional sounds
In addition to the realistic acoustic piano sounds, the ES920 has an extensive selection of sounds, such as electric piano, drawbar or church organ, strings or choir, which allow the musician to play a wide variety of genres. The dual mode allows two different sounds (e.g. grand piano and strings) to be played simultaneously on the keyboard, while the split or four-hand mode allows the keyboard to be divided into a left and a right section. The respective volume ratio can be adjusted quickly and easily at the touch of a button.
Bluetooth Audio/MIDI
In addition to the USB-to-host connection and the MIDI ports, the ES920 is also equipped with Bluetooth MIDI technology, which enables wireless communication with smart devices (e.g. smartphone or tablet). This gives you the opportunity to conveniently use a wide range of music-related apps in conjunction with your ES920 digital piano.
Or simply use the Bluetooth audio interface. Simply connect your smartphone to the ES920 and enjoy all your music directly through the ES920's speaker system. This saves the additional purchase of a Bluetooth speaker and sounds fantastic.
Automatic accompaniment styles
The Rhythm Section of the ES920 includes automatic accompaniment arrangements suitable for numerous musical styles. The 100 different arrangements consist of drums, bass, guitar, organ etc. and allow the musician - thanks to the integrated instrumental band - to play even more vividly.
USB to Device functionality with MP3/WAV recording and playback
The ES920 model is equipped with USB ports, which not only offer you the option of exchanging MIDI data with a connected computer. For example, you can also save data directly to a USB storage medium or load data from a storage medium directly into the instrument. This USB to Device functionality allows you to save registration slots and songs (stored in the internal memory of the ES920) to an external storage medium or to play MIDI files (SMF) stored on it directly with the instrument without the need for additional hardware. It is also possible to play songs from your favorite artists directly in MP3 or WAV format. You can also record your own playing in MP3 or WAV format and send it to your friends by email, listen to the songs on a smartphone or PC or burn them to CD on your PC.
Extensive connection options
The ES920 has a range of connection options, such as audio outputs (LINE OUT) for connecting to an amplifier for use in larger venues (e.g. churches or schools). The MIDI IN/OUT and USB to Host connections allow flexible connection to computers or other MIDI devices. Thanks to the stereo input (LINE IN), the audio output of a laptop or tablet PC, for example, can be connected directly to the ES920 and played back via the built-in speakers.
